We're back!
It has been far too long since my fingers have typed a blog post for this brain child of mine, and I have missed it. There's something so encouraging and freeing about writing about something you know others may be going through but don't have a direct line into knowing if someone else is going through it.
I think that's a big reason why I have pushed so hard to make the time, find the energy and try to craft the words back into my beloved "The Spectrum Mom" business. It was never just a business. It will never be just a business. It will always be such a big part of my life.
So.... what has been going on!?
For us, we have had a tumultuous two years. Damn - two years. Nate is now almost 7. He has lost 3 baby teeth. He's become an absolute fish this summer. He successfully finished Grade 1 and got an AAC device to help with his communication. He is still non-verbal, but has lots of consonant sounds. He is learning to 'play' (more like tolerate) his 2.5 year old baby sister. We spend lots of time outdoors.
Truth be told, there is far too much to write about in one blog post - there's so many layers and back story and history to go over to even begin to scratch the surface of what's happened in our lives since July of 2023.
I guess the best way to summarize this blog post is by simply saying, "we're happy to be back, we're happy to reconnect with everyone, and we're excited to see what changes await us."
Thank you everyone for your patience, continued support and sharing your own journeys.
